What Does 6-Figure, 7-Figure, and 8-Figure Mean? A Guide to Understanding Figures in Terms of Money

When it comes to discussing salaries and income, you may have heard the terms "6-figures," "7-figures," "8-figures," and "9-figures" thrown around. But what do these terms actually mean?

First, let's define what a "figure" means in terms of money. A "figure" refers to a digit in a number, and when discussing salaries, it refers to a digit in the range of 100,000 and up. For example, a "6-figure" salary is one that falls within the range of $100,000 to $999,999, while a "7-figure" salary is one that falls within the range of $1,000,000 to $9,999,999. The same goes for "8-figures" (between $10,000,000 and $99,999,999) and "9-figures" (between $100,000,000 and $999,999,999).

Now that we have a better understanding of what figures mean in terms of money, let's take a look at some jobs that may pay in these figures:

6-Figure Jobs:

  • CEO

  • Lawyer

  • Doctor

  • Dentist

  • Engineer

  • IT Manager

7-Figure Jobs:

  • Management Consultant

  • Surgeon

  • Sales Director

8-Figure Jobs:

  • Tech CEO (at a very large company)

  • Real Estate Investor

It's worth noting that these are just a few examples, and there are many other jobs that may pay in these figures. The key is to work hard, build valuable skills, and be open to new opportunities. With dedication and determination, it is possible to achieve a high-paying career in any field.
